Magnificent. Stunning. Breathtaking. Gorgeous! These words cannot do half the justification for this country's beauty! Where do I even begin to describe the majestic landschape and terrain that God himself created? Rolling hills of lush green grass, sprinkled with an assortment of tropical trees and shubbery. Beautiful fuschia flowers adds even more color to the scenery. Mountains of dense forests surround me, low misty clouds creats a mystique, hovering aura, and straight ahead lies a beautiful volcano, peaking high in the air. A chorus of insects in the background, sun rising in the perfect blue sky, cattle grazing on the hill and toucans flying at my left. This is Costa Rica. One of God's masterpieces.
So far, it's been quite a journey, and quite an adventure, indeed! Everything is different here. Culture shock for sure. Though, strangely, our Nation's Capitol was ten times more culture shock than this. Here, I feel the presence of God, the protection of His angels and I see the work of His hands. I know this is where the Lord wants me, and has strategically placed me for a purpose. Do I feel a bit crazy for coming here? Yes, yes I do. In fact, I must have told my mom at least a dozen times that surely I must be a lunatic for chosing to go so far out of my comfort zone! But I am at complete peace. Complete peace because I know I am obeying God.
When I think of all the plane rides and bus rides, I feel that it couldn't possibly be just nine hours ago! Such a different world I'm in now. I went from plush, comfortable seats, catering flight attendants, and a plethora of movies and music at my convenience to living the life as a third world Costa Rican. It's challenging, but oddly; so refreshing!
